Tucked away in Carmel, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis is the awesome Monon Community Center. There’s Monon Trail, of course, a fitness center, a skate park indoor track, swimming pools, and my kids’ very favorite part of summer — The Waterpark.

The Waterpark features pools, waterslides, a diving board, the lazy river, and FlowRider®! That’s surfing, you guys. In Indiana. FlowRider® is the first simulated surfing ride in the state, with water rushing at 30 miles per hour and 30,000 gallons per minute. It is included in the price of admission but does require a separate waiver and come with its own (extremely long) line.

Get there early to surf, then enjoy the rest of the park for the day. You’ll find me on the lazy river. Or lounging by the pool so I can look up from my nap for all the “Hey, Mom! Watch this!” that never seem to end. The kids will come home exhausted, happy, and declaring it the Best! Summer! EVER!
